VERMILLION COUNTY SPEEDWAY
JUNE 6, 2009
Blake Nimee is 15 years old.. He lives in Montgomery, Illinois..
He runs the #79 with a DRC chassi and a 410 engine...
His #79 he said was the number that his grandpa used when he raced..His grandpa is Bob Kammerer...
Blake considers his hometrack Vermillion County Speedway and also his favorite to race...
He started his racing career at age 5 in 50cc motorcyles, then went into quarter midgets, micro sprint ...
This is his first year (2009) in a sprint...
His inspiration to start racing was from his grandpa Bob Kammerer..
The driver he most admires is STEVE KINSER
The drivers he says has been his toughtest competition are JON STANBROUGH AND SHANE COTTLE...
To be a good driver Blake says you need to be able to run on all areas of the track....you need to be smooth and you need to be smart....
His goal in racing is to be able to one day be picked up by a major team...
Anything in racing he feels needs changed.... like most all......the COST...
Racing highlight for Blake was in the micro sprints... it was at Pike County Speedway..it was a $10,000 to win race with 90 cars and he made the feature....
He likes to race the high groove on a tacky track..
His Crew Chief is his grandpa Bob Kammerer..
and Team Member is his dad Rob Nimee...
He wanted to give a special thanks to his dad and to his grandpa for letting him race and for spending the time getting his car ready.....
Thankyou so much for the interview Blake ... Was nice meeting you and your family..goodluck in 2009...
