Shawn Rayfield is 35 years old and lives in O'Fallon, Missouri with his wife Holly and daughter Katylyn..

He runs the #18m crate late model with a 604 engine..

He claims Montgomery Co as his hometrack.... His favorite track to run is Eldora...............

Shawn told me he started racing at the age of 19 in the modified divison...
He started racing in the crate late model division last year (2207)

I asked him what had inspired him to start racing and he told me that he just always liked racing and just decided to give it a try...."he likes it better now"....

The driver he most admires is KENNY SCHRADER

He says his toughest competitor has bee ED DIXON

I asked if he had a goal in racing......he laughed and said "I did have.....but I think that has passed me up". He siad his dreams were like most kids starting racing..to make it into Nascar......now he says he likes what he does with traveling from track to track...He said he is having fun...

I asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed changed.... he laughed and said there was but he shouldn't say anything....then added that he felt the safety issues could be made better on small tracks.....and....they should enforce safer seasts for the cars so your head don't bounce around....

Racing highlight for Shawn was winning a $5000 event at Mulvin, Missouri this year (2008)...

Shawn likes to run the low grrove on a dry slick track....
