Don Kiger is 57 years old and lives in Tilton, Illinois. He is the father of four daughters and is the grandfather to eleven....
He runs the #01 modified with a Wilson Chassi and a chevrolet #427 Engine..
The reason behind the #01.... he said he was a big DUKES OF HAZARDS fan..
He claims Vermillion County as his hometrack but favorite track to run is Florence, Kentucky...
Don said he started his racing career in 1977 in the street stock division at Boswell..It was an asphalt track when he raced there..
He started racing modifieds in 1986..
His inspiration to start racing....he said Marcus Phelps...Covington, Indiana...
The driver he most admires: MARK MARTIN
When asked who his toughest competitor had been he said they are all tough in the modified division...
To be a good driver he said you need a lot of money....but...said if you don't have talent it isn't going to get you there....... and it takes a lot of hard work...
His goal in racing is to become a three time track champ and to get his grandson Donnie in a race car... which he is planning on in four years....
When asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed changed.....he told me there needs to be a limit on the engines....
When I asked Don if he liked racing the high or low groove he told me he races everywhere....
He does like to race a dry slick track...
