DAVID RICHARDSON MEMORIAL WEEKEND
VERMILLION COUNTY SPEEDWAY
DANVILLE, ILLINOIS
MAY 23, 2009

Jim Bailey is 43 years old and lives in Hoopston, Illinois with his wife Michelle and their four year old daughter Alexa...

Jim runs the #66b crate late model with a DENNY SCHWARTZ CHASSI nad a BOB RICKY Race Engine...
The reason behind the #66b.... it is the year he was born..

He claims both Kamp and Vermillion Co as his hometracks but his favorite to run is Kamp....

Jim started his racing career at age 36 in the sportsman division (2003)....and went in a modified for a couple of years (2004) left and then came back in 2006...
He told me however that he had raced motorcross for 22 years and had owned and operated a motorcross track from 1993 to 2001....then decided he wanted to go into a car...

To be a good driver Jim says you need patience and a lot of money...

The driver he most admires is DALE EARNHARDT, JR

His goal in racing/life is to live a good and prosperious life...."live life to the fullest"...

When asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed changed he told me the quality of racing needs changed...the cost .... he said money should not be the reason you win...it should be basked on your skill...everyone needs to be on an equal base...

Racing Highlight that stands out for Jim was being voted "Rookie of the Year" in 2003 at Kamp....

He told me he like both the high groove and the low groove...he will be wherever the groove may be....
He does like a dry slick track....

His Crew Chief is Bruce Inman
Team Members are Bruce, himself and his wife Michelle, Chuck Haga and Jerrod Warner.....

He wanted to give a special thanks to his sponsors: Rutledge Auto Center; Natural Health Care Solutions; Tuggle Schiro and Lichlenberger Attorney at Law...

Thankyou Jim for the interview... was very nice meeting you....goodluck in 2009 ...
