I don't even know where to begin.... I had a very nice weekend at Vermillon County this weekend...
We decided to go to Vermillon County on friday and set our camper up...

it was very interesting being there a day early and see what goes on at the track....
We got there right around two oclock.... Joe Jeffries was already there ..last weekend the speakers went out and they were being repaired.... I seen a bundle of wood at the bottom of the bleachers and seen where they had replaced the planks going up to the grandstand....
The water truck was already on the track..and... it is the biggest water truck I have seen at a track........ they worked the track all day...

I was not surprised to see that we were the only camper there on friday but was surprised that only one more pulled in on saturday.... there were a couple of tents and a van that parked under a tree where i am sure the people slept all night....
It cost us $15 a night to camp with electric...it is free if you don't hook up to electricity...we could not use our air conditioner ...thankgoodness we had a couple of fans..... friday was really hot....
Friday night it quieted down and we relaxed...we watched deer come up in the field not far from us and there were two horses that just run loose on the grounds... my hubby was out petting them but when i came out with my camera they stayed their distance..

Joe Jeffries and his girlfriend came by the camper ... he had picked up the trophies...
wow....was really nice.......

Around four I headed to the pit area to get some interviews.. it had cooled down a little bit.... while I was in the pit area Mark, Gennie, Kelsie and Jenna Bare and Howie's brother and sister inlaw Dennis and Connie all met at the camper and had some lunch..

In the pit area I interviewed crate late model drivers RANDY SHUMAN #62; JIM BAILEY #66B; AND BOBBY PIERCE #32...mocified drivers: JIMMY HAYDEN #15J AND BRIAN HAYDEN #2H...
I had a good time in the pit area meeting up with some drivers I had not seen in a while ...
Cute little Heather Thomas came over to say hello...she is a doll.. She and Ryan she told me had a bad experience at Bloomington friday night....knowing Heather I think she will get to the bottom of it and get it straightened out.........
While talking with her........her step dad Jimmy Hayden and her mom Karen was pulling their rig in.... that is when I grabbed the opportunity to interview Jimmy... What a great guy to interview .. I could have stayed there forever and talked with them..... smile.gif I did stay there a long time... lol.... well.... I see where Heather gets her looks... her mom ...
Right next to Jimmy was Brian Hayden...... boy those Hayden's have a long history in racing from generation to generation.......
I went over by Bobby Pierce and talked with Angie.... she went and got him so I could do an interview.... I asked her if she got nervous with Bobby being only 12 and already racing in a crate late model.... She said yes somewhat but not really...She has total confidence in Bobby... she said he is not easily intimidated..... I told her he sure did have big shoes to fill and she said yes he sure did but feels that if anyone could accomplish that it would be Bobby.....When I interviewed Bobby I asked him what his goal in racing was... He told me to win the World 100..... I really think he will do it too....
After winning back to back wins in the crate late model I knew I wanted to interview this guy : RANDY SHUMAN.... he not only was running a crate he was also running his modified..... glad I got to meet him...
I saw Dennis Waggle walking and went to talk with him...he was talking to his girlfriend Stephanie on his cell so I took off.....seen Kinder and Team #22 driving by while talking with Jimmy Hayden...
Well... it was time to head to the grandstand....we always sit at top by the announcer's booth... someone hollared at me and it was Chris Nunn, the announcer from Brownstown.. I had him and his girlfriend sit with our group.... he kept giving me a hard time about my driver CHAD KINDER..... he likes to tease me.... laugh.gif tongue.gif ...
