Nick Hanfland is 25 years old and lives in Siegel , Illinois..

He runs the #73 sprint with a Chaulk Chassi and a Gaerte 410 engine..
I asked him if he had a reason behind his #73..... He said #62 for Frank Hollingworth and #11 for Steve Kinzer equals his number 73.....

Nick started his racing career at age 8 in go carts....
He has been in the sprint division for five years....

He considers his hometrack to be Vermillion County Speedway and his favorite track to run is the ACTION Track in Terre Haute, Indiana...

I asked Nick what had inspired him to start racing..... He told me he has always been very competitive and when he was a child he had a yard car... He said he would race everyone in the neighborhood......

The driver he most admires is STEVE KINZER

When asked who his toughest competitor had been he told me that the USAC boys have been . He said they have more money and better equipment...

To be a good driver he feels you have to have passion for the sport AND the drive to win........

His goal in racing is to get as many wins as he can get....

I asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed a change..... He told me there needs to be better sportsmanship... It is important to have respect for the other driver....

A racing highlight for Nick was at age thirteen when he set the track record at Chaarleston in his micro-sprint.....
