Chad Branson is 36 years old and lives in Sherman, Illinois with his wife Missy and children Noah, JT and Kate...
He runs the #71 sprint with a F5 chassi and a 410 Gaerte Engine...
He claims Jacksonville as his hometrack and Spoon River as his favorite track to run.......
Chad started racing midgets at age 25 and started running a sprint in 2004/5..four years ago...
I asked him what had inspired him to start racing and he told me he came from a long line of racers...... His grandpa Don was an Indy 500 Vet and is in the USAC National Hall of Fame..... And his dad Roger also raced...

To be a good driver Chad says you have to maintain a level head.... you need to have patience..... and just a little bit of stupidity....
His goal in racing is just to have fun...
I asked who his toughest competitor had been..... He answered with ..."all 50 of em ....that was there that night...."
When asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed to be changed he said the cost of the engines and the cost of the cars...
Racing Highlights that stand out for him was winning a feature his first year in a sprint at Lincoln Speedway and making it in the top 10 at the Pepsi Nationals in Sun Prairie,Wisconsin.....
When asked which he liked : high or low groove.......Chad told me he likes running the high groove the best but is better on the bottom....
He like to run on a dry slick track...
