Man... I sure was not expecting to be at a racetrack this weekend with all the rain we had this week...........and there were several cancelations for friday and figured many more for saturday...
Well not the case for Vermillion County.... they were out working the track and the pit area trying to get it dried out.....and mother nature was good to them on saturday and did not give them additional rain...
I got to the track at 4:30 and the track looked really good.... I went into the pit area today and was very surprised that it was not a muddy mess.....
My mission today was to get to know some of the sprint drivers and to find Roger Cary , the number 44 modified driver...
I got interviews with sprint drivers: Chad Branson #71; Korey Weyant #99; Jake Simmons #7s; Al Thomas #72; Nick Hanfland #73; Kyle Wissmiller #15; Mitch Wissmiller #23; Bryan Clauson #39; and a partial interview with Jon Stanbrough...
also got an interview with Roger Cary #44 modified and one with Justin Sondgeroth #24 crate late model....
I am going to be out of town for a week so will get them finished as soon as I get home...
I saw Scott Dunlap #79 street stock driver who has won two weekends in a row..also talked with his dad Lloyd...
On way back to the grandstand I ran into Timmy Snelling and his dad... Timmy told me he sold his hornet and now is racing his street stock #14 full time....
Next to him was Tyler Wiese #50 modified.... had been a while since I had ran into him...was nice to see him again....he made it into the A Main tonight and had trouble right at the git go.... hated to see that.....
I also ran into Tim Reynolds #40r modifed driver.... was good to see him again... got an updated picture....
The racing was really good and has been all three weekends....
some of the best modified racing around..... first week CHAD KINDER WON, last week ROGER CARY WON and this weekend JASON LAKEY WON.........
In crate late models Shumann #62 has won back to back features and Scott Dunlap back to back wins in street stock..... not sure what they did tonight but both were looking as if they would do the same tonight..... we left after modified race...NOT MY CHOICE...but if i want a ride home I have to go... wink.gif blink.gif mad.gif
