Jim Ransom is 34 years old and lives in Williamsport, Indiana..
He runs the #24 modified with a Wilson Chassi and a Mullinis Engine...
His car number is the his car owner prefers...Jeff Gordon's number...
Jim claims Kamp Motor Raceway as his hometrack and also his favorite track to run......
JIm told me he started racing at the age of 19 in the street stock division .. He started racing in the modified division last year in 2008..
The reason he got inspired to start racing he said was "the need to speed".....
The driver that he most admires is MICHAEL WALTRIP...
The driver he deems his toughest competitor : DERIK LOSH
To be a good driver Jim says you have to have skill.....you have to have patience and it takes a lot of hard work.....
His goal for this year is to win five features....
A RAcing Highlight for Jim was winning the 2007 UMP Nationals in the Street Stock Division....
When I asked him which he prefers.... the high groove or the low... he answered with: whatever is the fastest....
He does prefer to race a dry slick track.....
