Elliott Despain is 19 years old and lives in Campbellsville, Ky..........sorry girls...he has a girlfriend...."Lesley"...
He runs the #75 modified with a Bandit Race Car Chassi and a Dale Meeres Racing Engine...
He uses the #75 for his racing hero Bart Hartman....
Elliott claims Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City , Ky as his hometrack.... His favorite track to run is Eldora...
He started his racing career at the young age of 5 in a go cart.... He started racing in the modified division in 2005...
His reason for getting involved in racing.....Elliott said he has been around racing all his life....didn't know anything any different....
The driver that he most admires....BART HARTMAN........and MIKE JEWELL
He told me his toughest competitor has been JOEY KRAMER....
To be a good driver Elliott says you need to have a lot of knowledge and understanding what your car does........and he added..."and a little talent helps too"...
His goal in racing is to one day be able to race in the late model division and do it full time.....
I asked him if there was anything in racing he would like to see change... He told me he would like to see them run American Race Tires everywhere....
A highlight that stands out for Elliott was getting his first in the the modified...
He said also a highlight was being the youngest driver at age 16 to make a feature race at Eldora..........
When asked if he liked the high or the low groove he told me wherever it works....when asked dry slick or tacky.........he said "hammer down"...
His Crew Chief is his dad BILLY DESPAIN
