As I have said many times before.... I love going to Brownstown , Indiana... the trip there is beautiful and this is the only time I think I have ever made that trip and not had to worry about rain.... and on the way home NO FOG....

We arrived at Brownstown Speedway at about 3:30 pm. Indiana time....there was a huge line waiting to get in.... the pit area was full....later I learned there were 185 cars in the pits...
The grandstand was overflowing and by midway through the racing they were running out of food..........
I heard one of the guys say that they had ran out of wrist bands at the gate....

After getting settled and all are blankets layed out I headed for the pit area... Always nice to see Chris Nunn and also got to talk with his mother.... she told me with all the walking she had been doing she feels she has lost 20 pounds.. and would lose another 20 sunday with clean up...
I went over and said hello to Team #22...

I got interviews with Steve Casebolt #C9 and Bart Hartman #75 in late model and I updated my interview with Ryan Thomas since he now races the new DIAMOND RACE CHASSI that he builds... and with Bradley Sterrett that Heather Thomas introduced me to....

I went to the #21 pit area of Billy Moyer,jr thinking it was Billy's son..... when I went up to him he had his back to me... I asked him if I could get an interview with him... He turned around and I said "Oh..you aren't Billy"..... and he said ... HUH..yeah.. I am....
I laughed and said oh no.... that is not what I meant.... I have already interviewed you... I thought you were your son..... He laughed.... I told him I got confused because I know his dad is Billy Moyer,Sr... and both he and his son are referred to as juniors....He told me he is not a junior... that his son is but he does know they call him junior and he just never corrected them.... ... I love talking with him... he is such a gentleman... I took a picture and headed out.......

I took some pictures of the late model as I was walking through... a lot of the late model drivers stay in their rigs... and I will not bother them... some were sleeping... I saw Jimmy Owens car but never did see him...he is another one I like to talk with...
I never ever found where Bloomquist was parked... would have liked some pictures... sorry guys...
I went over by Team #7r and talked with Mickie... Kent was not around and Becky had not arrived yet.... only time I seen Becky was when she was on the back of their golfcart heading to the bleachers to watch hot laps...she never seen me..

I stood at the entryway to the track and took a few pictures and then headed to the bleachers for the qualifying for late models............which I could not hear so did not get accurate times...and they were not using the time clock... I do know that DALE McDOWELL earned bragging rights for fastest qualifier....
The modified did not qualify..they did the pill draw.....

I have 57 modifieds and 64 late model......

And I WILL TRY TO CONTROL MYSELF AND NOT SHOW MY TOTAL EXCITEMENT OVER CHAD KINDER'S WIN.... I think this race was one of the most exciting I have seen... and I have seen a lot of exciting races from him...

........................heats for modifieds......
heat one.....you had Krup and C Demoss on front row and Kissinger and Anderson on second row..3rd row was Whitten and R Lex..4th row was Hughes and Roberts...Lee Hobbs was suppose to be on tail but during hot laps his car started smoking so he dns..I have no cautions recorded for this heat... Derek Groomer pulled off before the finish of race... the #78c od Demoss took the lead from the start and stayed there til the finish...the battle going on was for second with the #20 of Hughes and the #9 of Krup..the three to transfer to main : CLINT DEMOSS...STEVE HUGHES ...WILL KRUP
...R. Lex, M Anderson, L Kissinger, Whitten, Roberts, Groomer, Hobbs

heat two...whew...this heat was crazy... a lot of very aggressive driving going on..lots of cautions...
front row had Wilson and K Streeval, 2nd row McKenzie and Gullion, 3rd row Turner and Herber, 4th row Lucas and Ledford, 5th row Decker and Marty Oneal..
first caution came out on the first lap when the #87 of Decker gets turned sideways coming out of turn one..total restart..
next caution was for a false start.....before restart the #87 of Decker pulls off the track
The #67 of Wilson and the #14 of Steeval really racing hard ..the #67 gets out in front..
Next caution comes out for the #30t of Darryl Herbert who gets turned in turn 4 ..he pulls to infield..
Next caution comes out for the #34 of Gullion who does get his car pulled off track...
On the restart the #24 is on the move... it was Wiken, Streeval and the #24 of McKinzie..McKinzie gets into the #14 trying to get around him and causes a major crash...the one that suffered the most in that incident was the #19 of Marty Oneal...he was pulled off the track..the #14 got his spot back...on restart it is Wilson, Streeval,Ledford, McKinzie, Lucas,Turner....
lot of crazy driving... the 7L, 78 , 24 and 44 are racing all bunched up...
finish: top three to feature KEATON STREEVAL,...JAY LEDFORD...ROCKY WILSON....McKenzie, Lucas, Turner, Oneal, Guillon, Herbert, Decker

heat three... you had Sheeks and Babcock on front row, 2nd row Ryan Thomas and Betts, 3rd row is Sterrett and Littrell, 4th row Brewer and Spatola, 5th row Wagner and Webber..
first caution came out for the #9t of Ryan Thomas who spins in turn one...has to go to tail....
caution two comes out for the #90 of Sterrett who goes up in smoke....
the #89 car of Mike Spatola came up from 8th spot to take the lead...
caution three comes out for the #9 who spins in turn four...the #3 spins but keeps going..
Finish...three to main are : MIKE SPATOLA...JEFF BABCOCK...DUSTIN WEBBER.....Ryan Thomas, Wagner, Brewer, Sheeks, Betts, Littrell, Sterrett...

heat four.......front row was Barrow and Sullivan, row two Christie and Joey Kramer, row three CHAD KINDER and Doug Adkins, row four Gokee and Eddleman, row five Schornick and Baldwin...
Well...real disappointing for us Kinder fans.... only one lap in and Kinder was almost taken out in turn four when the X got squirrly..... in lap one the X again was going all over... Kinder tried to turn and get away from him but got sideways and the car behind him got into Chad cutting his tire...he had to pull off... we later learned that the j bar had also been bent... we were afraid he was done....
the #6b of Baldwin pulls off the track...
the #21 of Barrow was out in front with Joey Kramer hot on his heels...Joey takes the lead and stays there til the finish...
Finish: three going to main : JOEY KRAMER....BRAD BARROW...LARRY SCHORNICK....Sullivan, Christie, Gokee,Adkins, Baldwin, Chad Kinder, Eddleman....

heat five...front row McWilliams and Denny Boknecht, 2nd row Crisp and Matt Bex, 3rd row Despain and Matt Boknecht, 4th row Bradley and Gilpin and tail is Jared Bailey..
first caution comes out for the #14 of Bradley who gets sideways in turn 2..trying to miss him the #24 of Bailey goes up on the burn and gets stuck..#24 is pulled off track by wrecker....
the #22d is in the lead and spins going into turn two.... now the #31 of Matt Bex is leading
Finish..top three to Main MATT BEX...ELLIOTT DESPAIN...MATT BOKNECHT....Devin Gilpin, D McWilliams, Bradley, Dennis Boknecht, Crisp, Bailey.....

heat six.....front row Jordan and Cripe, 2nd row is McComas and Hines, 3rd row is Kurth and Nick Allen, 4th row Hamilton and KENT ROBINSON, and tail is Lomax...
the #13 of Jordan gets out in front at start.....the cars are bunched up and there was no passing.... the #15 of Hines gets squrrley and gets into Robinson causing him to go airborne and he headed right for the wall in front of the grandstand... he got shut down right in time....on restart it is #13, DH, 21, 15, 36, 4, 23 and 7 of Robinson...
the #21a of Nick Allen gets the lead with 3 to go...
caution comes out for the #4 who spins in turn 2...
finish: three to main: NICK ALLEN...MATT HAMILTON....JAMIE LOMAX.....Jordan, Kent Robinson, Hines, Cripe, McComas, Kurth....

....there are three consi's and they are only taking two from each ....
it was pretty nerve wracking for the Kinder fans.... he was going to have to start at tail of his consi.... fingernail biting time....
I didn't get the lineup for the consi... I just know that the #43 of Anderson and the #x of Sullivan were on the front row and Kissenger and #75....Kinder was on row six outside of Derik Groomer...last was Eddleman...
Chad kinder came all the way from 12th to take the lead !!!!! that was so exciting... always fun to watch someone come from the tail to take a win.... but very very stressful.... lol...
Two to feature: CHAD KINDER....LEVI KISSINGER

consi two only 7 cars showed up to race: front row Jared Bailey and Devin Gilpin, 2nd row Lucas and Bradley, 3rd row Oneal and Dennis Boknecht and tail Herbert...
Two to feature: DEVIN GILPIN.....DARYL HERBERT

consi three: there were 11 ..Ryan Thomas got out in front right from the start and stayed there til the finish.... Kent Robinson who started 4th got into the second spot and stayed there til the finish..... you could see that Kent's car was not running up to par.......
Two to feature: RYAN THOMAS AND KENT ROBINSON...

Now.... until Chris Nunn gets the official results of the feature I can only put what I have being I was watching Chad...

1...CHAD KINDER (19)

2..Joey Kramer (4)
3..Clint Demoss (1)
4..Matt Bex (5)
5..Ryan Thomas
6..Nick Allen
7..Hamilton

I have to say personally this is one of the best races I have seen Chad race...I have seen several but this was really great..... he started in 19th position and he just kept picking them off one after another.... he hugged that inside wall and man o man...several times I thought he was going to be sitting on top of one of those big tires......
Nunn kept telling the crowd to keep an eye on the number #22s... that he was on the move to the front..... boy was he right..... it was great watching Joey Kramer and Chad going at it again like they have several times at KLMS.... good clean driving... was fun to watch.... and when the racing was over Joey Kramer went to the infield and congratulated Chad on the win......... awesome...just awesome...can't wait til next weekend...
