Jess Hartman is 30 years old and lives in Zanesville, Ohio

He runs the #5 modified with a Bob Pierce Chassi and a M & M Performance Engine.......

The reason for the #5..... it was the number his Uncle Robbie Graves ran when he raced.........HIs Uncle Robbie was killed in a racing incident....

Jess started his racing career at age 18 in the pure stock division and went into a modified at age 21...

He said he got his inspiration to start racing from his grandpa....His grandpa had owned a racetrack in Zanesville, Ohio........."R & R Speedway"..

The driver Jess most admired was: JEFF BOYD

The driver he deems his toughest competitor is RICK AUKLAND..

To be a good driver Jess says it takes experience and a lot of hard EFFORT...

A goal in racing for him is to some day race late models....

A racing highlight that stands out for him was winning the Street Stock National Championship and the Modified Track Championship at Cannonball Speedway...

He likes to race the high groove on a dry slick track...
