ELDORA UMP NATIONALS
OCT 3 AND 4 , 2008

Matt Aber is 37 years old and lives in Wooster, Ohio...

He runs the #70 modified with a Larry Shaw Chassi and a Draime Racing Engine...This weekend he was using his dad's car , the #70p because his was not ready...

He claims Wayne County Speedway as his hometrack... His favorite track to run is Brushcreek Motorspeedway..

Matt started his racing career at the age of 17 in pure stock... He went into a modified this year (2008)

His inspiration to start racing came from his father Blaine... His dad has raced a late model for 43 years ...

The driver that Matt most admires: DONNIE MORAN

HIs toughtest competitor he feels is : his dad BLAINE ABER

To be a good driver Matt says you have to have a lot of will power...have to be devoted to do it.... and it takes knowledge from other people...take advice.... and you can't give up....

His goal in racing is to win this race............Eldora Ump Nationals....

When asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed to be changed he said that the tracks need to pay back better........meaning.... instead of having a big payout for winning the race it needs to pay good farther back so more then one person can make some money....

A racing highlight for Matt was qualifying 2nd fastest at Pensboro Speedway...

He likes to race the high groove but doesn't care if it is a dry slick or tacky track...

Crew Chief is Jim Frye

and at this time Matt had to head for the track so I did not get to finish...
I grabbed his dad and interviewed him....

Matt...was really nice meeting you... thankyou for the interview...
