I have been watching Rob race for quite a while.... glad I finally got a chance to interview him..
Rob runs the 3f modified with a Bob Pierce chassis and a Bonnewell engine.
He lives in Paris, Illinois and his home track is Charleston Speedway...
Rob told me that he started racing in 1997 in the Super Street division and then went to modifieds....
I asked him what inspired him to start racing and he told me that he had always had the itch............and then finally decided to do something about it....
He told me that he gives a lot of credit to Denny Schwartz and Tommy Burnside and Jeff Martin for influencing him along the way...
When asked what he thought it took to be a good race car driver he told me 'PATIENCE'.......LOTS OF PATIENCE!!!!!
He told me that his long term goal would to finish in the top twenty in the U.M.P. Nationals and would like to win a track championship...
When I asked him who his toughest competitors were he told me without a doubt Denny Schwartz and said he would have to add Chad Kinder and Danny Schwartz...
When I asked him if there was anything about racing he would like to see changed he told me the "cost".... He said he would like to see some motor restrictions.... said he knew there were motors out there ranging from $5000 to $ $12 or $13000 ... would like to see it more competitive... said the way it is right now you can not compete fairly when there is that much price range... he said he would also like to see one tire compound...
Rob told me that his most memorable event to date was getting his first win at Chalreston on September 6, 2003...
He told me that he would like to say thanks to his mom and dad and to his wife Sheila and his two kids Kali and Kelsie for all their support... means a lot to him...
