Doug Taylor is 40 years old and lives in Oakland, Illinois ....

He runs the #7dt modified with a Bob Pierce chassi and a JRC engine..
He told me his number stands for his Uncle Frank Sims ...Said his Uncle Sims was a baseball coach...

Doug claims Charleston Speedway as his hometrack... His favorite tracks to run are Florence Co Speedway in Ky and Eldora in Rossburg, Oh.

He started his racing career at age 22 in the street stock division and went into a modified at age 26.

The driver he most admires is DENNY SCHWARTZ

The drivers he feels is his toughest competitors are DENNY AND DANNY SCHWARTZ...

To be a good driver Doug feels you need to have patience..

His goal in racing is to just go out and have fun and would like to win as many features as he can......and would like to place in the top 50 in UMP points...

When asked if there was anything in racing he feels needs to be changed.....He said he would like to see the UMP National points system changed....would like to see it made to where the average joe could have a better shot at it...

A racing highlight for Doug is winning his first modified race and once during a race he raced side by side with Denny Schwartz in a heat and got passed at the end....

Doug likes to run the low groove on a dry slick track...

He is his own Crew Chief..

Team Members are his girlfriend Kelly and daughter Bailey and his dad Calvin Taylor..

He would like to give a special thanks to his mom Nancy, to his dad Calvin, to is girlfriend Kelly, to JRC Engines and to Denny Schwartz...
