Josh Smyser is 19 years old and lives in Charleston, Illinois
He runs the #1x street stock which has a Smyser racing chassi and a 360 engine....
Josh claims Charleston Speedway as his hometrack and also his favorite track to run....
This is Josh's first year to race.....
He told me that he was inspired to start racing because of his family.... His dad Randy use to race....his brother Randy races in the street stock division ......and he has another brother Nick waiting in patiently til he gets the chance to start racing.... or maybe I should say "impatiently waiting"
The drivers that he most admire are his dad Randy Sr and his brother Randy Jr.......
Josh thinks to be a good driver you need patience...dedication...and added that skill helps...
A goal for him in racing is not to destroy his car when he goes out to race so that he can race again the next weekend....
The driver he feels is his toughest competitor is Darrell Hellman...
When asked if there was anything in racing he thought needed to be changed...He said "no comment"...
Racing highlight for Josh was running 7th with 5 laps to go..... his best race to date.... something came loose on his car and someone thinking he was helping went on the track and fixed it......track officials thought it was one of his crew members and they black flagged him....
Josh likes to race the high groove on a dry slick track...
His Crew Chief is his dad Randy Sr..
Crew Members are his dad and his brother Nick, Mike Lewis and his grandpa Raymond White.....
Josh wanted to give a very big.......I MEAN HUGE "thanks" to his Grandma White...... .......... and to his Crew and to his family..
Thankyou Josh for the interview.... It was a pleasure to meet you and your family...
