August 23, 2008

JR Wiltermood will be 44 years old on August 31st and he lives in Windsor, Illinois with his wife Ginger and sons Dustin and Dylan........

JR runs the #93j street stock which is a 1978 Nova.. He has a 406 engine...
The reason behind his car number.............that is the year he and Ginger were married....

JR considers Charleston Speedway his home track as well as his favorite track to run...

JR told me that he started his racing career at age 22... He told me he started in the street stock division and then went into a modified and now back into a street stock...

He told me he got his inspiration to start racing from watching Dale Earnhardt, Sr race...

The Driver he most admires: DALE EARNHARDT, SR

The driver who has been his toughest competitor over the years has been: BILL SOLLARS......

When I asked if he had a goal in racing..............He told me that he has already achieved it....

Racing highlights for Jr are winning two track championships ...one in 1998 and one in 2005 in the street stock division..... He also set a track record in the old street stocks in 1998... he said Mike the announcer at Charleston would probably have that recorded somewhere........I will have to ck with MIke...

Jr likes to race a tacky track and prefers racing the high groove..

His Crew Chief is his son Dylan who also races in the street stock division..
Crew Member is his other son Dustin........
I asked JR if Dustin would one day join him and his son racing.... He told me yes that he would..but when that time came he would probably step down and just help his sons...

JR wanted to give a special thanks out to his wife Ginger and his sons Dustin and Dylan and to his sponsors who without them he would not be able to do this:
Warren Auto Sales, Sullivan, In...H.P.R. ....Bennett Grain....M & W Legacy Farms.....Windsor Family Foods.....Eaton Salvage Yard..Atteberry Marshall Heating and Air...........

JR...was really nice to meet you...Thanks for giving me the time for the interview... and goodluck with your season....
Looking forward to seeing Dustin out there soon....
