Billy James is 36 years old and lives in Sikeston, Missouri with his wife Lisa and kids Bayleah, Carson, and Jordie..
Billy runs the #17 crate late model with a Rocket chassi and a 604 crate engine....
I asked Billy when he started racing and he told me he started at age 21 in the super street division and then raced late models for ten to twelve years....Said this was his first year in the crate division...
His inspiration for racing came from his dad, Bill James, Sr...
The driver Billy most admires is BILL FRYE
The driver he feels is his toughest competitor.....BILLY MOYER
I asked him what he thought it took to be a good driver... He told me it takes a lot of patience...don't rush anything............
Billy likes to run the high groove on a tacky track....
