Clay County Speedway
July 26, 2008
Rick Scott is 45 years old and lives in Fairfield, Illinois with his wife Wilma and two daughters Heather and Heidi..
Rick runs the #25 hornet with a 1.9 SOHC engine.. It is a Saturn...
I asked if there was a reason for his number... he told me that he had started out with the number 28 and wrecked the car..when he got his next car it had the 25 on it and he stuck with that ever since...
Rick claims Clay County as his hometrack as well as his favorite track to run...
He started his racing career last year at age 44 and in the hornet division..
I asked Rick what had inspired him to start racing and he told me he had always been a fan of it and him and his wife has attended Clay County Speedway since the day it opened...
The driver that he most admires is Jay Jones........
He says his toughest competitor has been himself...
When asked what it takes to be a good driver Rick said "go fast and hang on"....
His goal in racing is just to make as many features as he can and would like to make it in the top ten in points this year..
Racing highlight for him was finishing in the top five this year in an event..
I asked if he liked the high groove or the low groove... he answered with "he prefers 3/4 groove...
He prefers the dry slick track over a tacky one...
When asked if he had a Crew Chief he told me like the other hornet drivers in that area...."they all help one another"......
He wanted to give a big thanks out to his sponsor Kaytidid Trucking and to his wife Wilma...
Thankyou very much for the interview Rick... it was really nice to meet you..goodluck this season....
