Jeff Curl is 29 years old and lives in Forest, Illinois with his wife Bridget and daughter Katie who is 4yrs old and son Tyler who is 2 yrs old..
He runs the #c12 modified with a Pro Chassi and a Friedman Race Engine..
I asked him if he had a reason for his car number.... He told me that was just the number that he had always used for everything.... ***I would say that is his favorite number
Jeff considers Fairbury Speedway is hometrack and also his favorite to run...
Jeff started his racing career at age 23 and started right out in the modified division...
I asked what had inspired him to start racing... He told me that he grew up at the track... He said he bought an old modified and that is all it took..... he was hooked....
The driver that Jeff most admires is "Billy Moyer"..........Mr Smooth............
His toughest competitors have been Jeff Leka,,,Denny and Danny Schwartz and Dave Porth...
To be a good driver Jeff believes you have to have patience....keeping your equipment in good shape...he says he spends at least two hours a night going over his car to make sure it is in good condition.... AND to be SMOOTh like Billy Moyer....not on the throttle....
His goal in racing is just to have fun....but added... it would be awesome to drive a late model...
When asked if there was anything in racing he would like to see changed.... he said he would like to see the complaining stop... rules are rules.......says the people that make them do a good job...
A racing highlight for Jeff was getting his first win two years ago at the Pappy Memorial Race that Fairbury has.... said that it was special for him to get his first win on such a special event.....
Jeff said he use to like to run the low groove but now he likes the middle........multiple groove...
And likes to race on a tacky track...
His Crew Chief is Diesel (his brother Matt).........
Crew Members are his dad Steve; his brother Greg and family
Jeff wanted to give a special thanks out to his wife Bridget and kids Katie and Tyler... and his sponsors...and to Roger Friedman who makes Dyer Top Rods
Jeff was really nice to meet you...... hope to catch you again this season...
