Rick Heck and Bev Heck are part owners of the Mt. Vernon Racway....
Last year Jeremy Sneed leased the track and renamed it Jefferson Co.... this year Rick and Bev leased the track from the other two partners and because of legal issues had to rename it.......it is now I-57 I-64 Raceway.................**it will always be Mt Vernon Raceway to me.." ( I made a lot of good friends from the Vern area**)
Rick has six children: Charlie 30yrs old, Rickie 28 yrs old, Daniel 19 yrs old, Aaron 17 yrs old, Dakota 11 yrs old and Dallas 10 yrs old....
He also has five grandchildren..
I asked Rick how he had got involved in owning a track.......... he told me he had been involved with the Mt. Vernon Raceway since its opening in 1978... he always ran the tow business for the track...
He bought the track in 1999....
He said that he raced all his life.... raced at the Benton track and the Centralia Track....raced street cars..
Said racing has always been a part of his life....
