David Wright is 43 years old and lives in Vandalia, Illinois with his wife Kathy.. They together have seven children: Mikel, Jonathon, Christopher , Brittany...Kristal, Michael and Matthew...
He runs the # 88 hornet... It is a saturn....the #88 on his car stands for the year his first son was born..
David claims Clay County Speedway as his hometrack and also his favorite to run...
He started his racing career in 1983 in the bomber division....went into a hornet three years ago........................
I asked David what inspired him to start racing and he answered with "THE NEED FOR SPEED".....
The driver that he most admires is Dale Earnhardt, Sr..
His toughest competitor is Timmy Snelling...
He feels to be a good driver you have to have patience.....and .....common sense....
HIs goal in racing is the best kind..... "just to have fun"....
He likes to race the middle of the track on a dry slick track...
HIs Crew Members are his three sons Mikel, Christopher, and Jonathan and his good friend Jim Cole..
