Jarrod Koontz is 32 years old and lives in Fairfield, Il with his wife Angela "Angie" and daughter Madylann....
He runs the #76 street stock which is a Night Hawk Chassi....**it was BJ Deal's chassi** HIs engine is a 360 Chevy..
His car number is for the year he was born...
Jarrod claims Clay County Speedway as his hometrack and also his favorite to run...
I asked Jarrod what had inspired him to start racing.... He told me it was something he just loved to do.......
He started his racing career out when he was twelve years old racing radio remote controlled cars..
At age 21 he decided to try it on the track ..
The driver he most admires JEFF GORDON... ***I knew there was something about Jarrod that I liked right from the start...
..The driver that he deems his toughest competitor....J J Miller .....
Jarrod feels to be a good driver you need to have plenty of patience...
His goal in racing is just to try and finish first....
I asked if there was anything in racing he feels needs changing ..and like so many he said the COST...
A Highlight that stands out for him was finishing second in a heat race once at Flora and also finishing 2nd in the points at Clay County in 2004....
He likes to run the middle groove on a dry slick track..
His dad Dennis Koontz is his Crew Chief along with his cute little daughter Madylann... I didn't ask how old she is but she looks about three
