Bub Mitchell is 24 years old and lives in South Roxana, Il..... it is near St. Louis, Mo. He is engaged to Ashley and they are planning on a May 31st wedding...
Bub runs the #1 crate late model with a Warrior chassi and a spec engine...
Bub said the #1 came from way back when he was a youngin playing hockey....
His hometrack is Tri City Speedway and also his favorite to run...
He told me that his brother inlaw Rick Squires was what inspired him to start racing.. He said that Rick also races crate late models..
Bub said he started racing in the sportsman division at age 14...Went into a late model in 2004 and started the crate late model division in 2006..
I asked Bub who the driver was that he most admired and he told me his brother inlaw Rick Squires...
He told me his toughest competitor is Nic Lyons......
Bub told me that he feels it takes a lot of responsibility to be a good driver... you need to have a good heart and you have to love the sport...
He told me his goal in racing is to one day win a championship....
A Racing Highlight that stands out for him was making the cover of a magazine...
He likes to run the low groove on a dry slick track..
His Crew Chief is his father Jim Mitchell...but tonight at CCS it was his fiance Ashley..
Bub it was a pleasure to get to meet you and Ashley.... You make a very cute couple and you can sure tell you think the world of that young lady...
