Kevin Cole is 26 years old....he and his wife Melissa along with their 15 month old son Trey live in Buckner, Illinois..
Kevin runs his #81c late model with a C J Rayburn Chassi and a Runyon Engine...he runs the #81c modified with a Bob Pierce Chassi and a Mullins Engine..
He told me his number....81c.... belongs to his car owner Scott Riggs
Kevin started his racing career in street stock at the age of 15.. He went into the modified division in 1998..Last year was his first year in a late model....
I asked Kevin what had inspired him to start racing and he told me he had just always liked racing...
The driver he most admires is TERRY ENGLISH
When asked what he thought it took to be a good driver he answered with " A LOT OF LAPS"........
I asked Kevin if he had a goal and he told me it was just to win no matter what division he was racing in..
I asked Kevin who was his toughest competitors and he told me that in late model it would have to be Terry English and Rodney Melvin and in modified it would have to be Matt Mevett...
He feels what needs to be changed about racing is the cost... He said the pay keeps going down and the cost keeps going up...
The Highlight that stands out for him in his career so far is being named 'ROOKIE OF THE YEAR' last year in the late model division...
He likes to run the high groove on a dry slick track...
His Crew Chief is Ben McKoskey and team members are "Cornbread", his dad Guy, and said he has to include grandpa "Arnold"...
He wants to give a very special thanks to Scott and Tara Riggs and to all of his family....
