BJ McCammon is 35 years old and lives in Danville, Illinois... He is engaged to a very cute girl by the name of Nicole....
BJ runs the #92 late model with a CJ Rayburn by RaceCo Chassi and a custom built engine....
When asked if there was a reason behind his number.... I already knew the answer ........that was his father's number .... DOUG McCAMMON............
He considers Kamp Motor Speedway as his home track but his favorite track to run is Clay County Speedway in Flora, Illinois..
BJ started his racing career at age 26 in a late model.........
When asked what had inspired him to start racing......... his dad Doug McCammon...
The driver he most admires........DOUG McCAMMON......... ***after meeting Doug and interviewing him I could not even imagine another person that BJ could admire more..... ***
When asked who his toughest competitor had been he answered with "himself".... He is harder on himself then anyone else could be...
I asked BJ what he thought it took to be a good driver ........... he said a lot of hard work....dedication and determination..........and good support from your family and fans...
His goal in racing is to be able to travel with a late model sanction for a living
When asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed to be changed..........he told me that it needs to be more uniform......more control on the tires.........
I asked him if there was a Highlight in his career that stood out for him........he told me that it was everytime he has raced against his dad.................
High groove or low groove preferance...........he told me wherever you gotta be....
On racing dry slick or tacky......he said tacky is fun...but dry slick is where drivers shine....
