Daryl Herbert is 48 years old and lives in Greeneburg, Indiana...
He runs the #30t modified with a JTR chassi and a Snyder Racing Engine...
When asked if there was a reason behind the car number ... he told me the T stands for Taylor and the #30 was an easy number to put on the car with a spray can....
Daryl claims North Vernon, In as his hometrack..........His favorite track to run is Union County, In...
Daryl started his racing career at age 18 in the bomber division...... He went into a modified in 1993...
I asked Daryl what had inspired him to start racing and he told me that his dad owned cars and that his brother Gary Herbert races in the Late Model division...
The drivers that he most admires is Tim Prinz and Donnie Oneal...
He feels that having patience makes for a good driver and also.............respect....
HIs goal in racing is to win 300 features before he retires...........He is at 265 right now...........****wow...** what a career he is having !!!!!
When I asked Daryl if there was anything in racing he felt needed changed he told me the expense..... and rule changes to make it more affordable.....
A racing highlight that stands out for him was making the World 100 in 1987 and making it all the way up to 7th and he lost his motor.......!!!!! also he won 4 Crowns race at Eldora...USAC Race...12 championships...
When asking if he likes the high groove or the low groove... he said it didn't matter to him.... whatever is working.... but... he does like to race a tacky track...
