What a great time I had at Clay Co last night.......a lot of cars that I had not seen before at Clay Co..
I am always happy to see my Clay County boys..........but was very happy to see some of the Charleston boys make it to CCS last night.....David Shain #87 , Travis Phipps #00 and Randy Smyser ..street stock guys.... Kasey Schrock was there in his modified and Mike Dunley was there.....
There were also some Putnamville regulars that showed up as well.... Kenny Carmichael, Phil Vansant and Jeff Wellum......
It was the Wolfpack Challenge tonight at CCS sponsored by Tim Wolfe....regulars for the Wolfpack series in attendance were the points leader Craig Conyer......Jeff Wellum who is in 2nd...Wes McClara who is in 4th.... and Matt Gouldan who is in 5th..........
I was very happy to finally meet and interview Scott Hutchinson #13h in crate late model.... I watched him race many times at Mt. Vernon......super super nice guy.....
I have met Craig Conyer's mom before but got to meet dad tonight..... I also was introduced to Wes McClara's dad and to his aunt...our member Aunt Tina.... really nice to meet all of you....
Spent some time over in the hornet section and had a really good time talking with that group...they all get along and are friends.... Bill Slane, Jeremy Beck (first time out in the car tonight), Chuck Bell, Rick and Lee Ann Crane.....talked with Tim Snelling and with Mike Perry......
Got an interview with M J Wheat and talked with his crew chief Rick Roth...very nice guys...
Was glad to see the #5m of Randy McNeely back in action this weekend...he had daughter softball games last weekend..............saw that cute little Ethan Burkett and his dad Greg.... also saw RATLEY..
Went by and said hello to Eddie Shamhart and told him I am still getting use to him being in the #71x and not his #12s..

The racing was very good......... a couple of really scarey accidents with cars flipping.... Mike Stryzinski #47 modified hit the tire in turn four and was airborne came down on his lid............I don't know what caused the second accident ...when I saw it #55 of Jay Jones was sideways and the #1m of Chris Moore was up in the air and landed on top of Jays car.......the #18m of Matt Huddleston could not get shut down in time and slid into the #1m........... it looked so bad that I had to sit down and have someone else write the car numbers down for me..........was so glad to see those guys get out of their car....man Jay you have had a couple of close calls this month...!!!
In the crate late models there were 8 cars there.........the #U2 came in time to join the Feature at the tail of the pack....
In the heat you had Dagg and Winters on the front row with Montague and Emling on second row..third row was Hutchinson and Perry....last row was Baker,jr and Lyons... ...the #13h of Hutchinson came up from 5th to give Dagg a run for first place but ended up taking second....the #2x of Lyons who started dead last worked his way up to third....Emling, Winters, Montague , Perry and Baker,jr...
There was a Dash for Cash in which the way you finished is the way you would be lined up in feature...
Front row was Hutchinson and Winters, second row was Emling and Lyons...third row was Dagg and Montague........finished with Lyons taking first, second Hutchinson, Dagg, Winters, Montague and Emling,jr....
The feature you had Lyons and Hutchinson on front row with Dagg and Winters on second row, third row was Montague and Emling, fourth row was Perry and Baker,jr and the #U2 of Danny Jolly joined the feature on the tail................ there was only one caution in the feature and that was for the #U2 of Jolly in turn 1.............................finish was Nic Lyons winning with Dagg , Hutchinson, Montague, Emling, Winters, Jolly, Perry and Baker ,jr......

In the modifieds there were 25 cars....3 heats...1 consi ........took top five out of heats to feature and took top five out of consi to feature..
Heat one you had Boylard and Wellum on front row, Wilson and Moore 2nd row, 3rd row was McClara and Carmichael, last row was Isaacs and Dedrick...............with one lap in a caution came out for the #32k of Kris Wilson who collected Wes McClara #45 in turn 2..........the #12g of Jeff Wellum had been out in the front but on restart the #1 of Moore shot around him to take the lead..... the #28 and the #12g were really putting on a show for the 2nd spot with Bolyard getting the spot.............with 2 laps in the #32k and the #45m of McClara tangle again... luckily both stayed in the race.... ended with Moore winning, Bolyard, Carmichael coming up from 6th, Jeff Wellum, Isaacs, McClara, Dedrick and Wilson...
Heat two you had Shaw and Gouldan on front row, 2nd row was Schrock and Chad Kinder, third row was Vansant and Anderson..fourth row was Keith Allen and Duvall...last was Randy McNeely..
At the start of the race Gouldan got out in front.... the 41g of Gouldan, the #1 of Brian Shaw and the #22s of Chad Kinder were all racing a tight race..... Kinder got around Brian Shaw for second and tried working the high side and tried working the low side but could not get around the #28 of Bolyard...he had it hooked up tonight !!!...........first caution came out for the #5m of Randy McNeely and the #83 of Schrock..........the #8 of Vansant pulled off........ended with Gouldan taking the win...Kinder 2nd, Shaw 3rd, Duvall 4th, McNeely 5th, Schrock 6th, Allen 7th and Anderson 8th...
Heat three Fox and Bobby Allen front row, 2nd row was Jones and Stryzinski, 3rd row was Shamhart and Conyer, last row was Doug Vinnedge and Huddleston....... first caution came out when the #71x drifted up high causing and accident between Craig Conyer and Matt Huddleston....caution two came out when the #47 of Mike Stryzinski got sideways and collected Craig Conyer ripping Conyer's door off and was attached to Stryzinski's car... both continued the race................after restart Conyer did pull off...next caution comes out for the #00 of Vinnedge who stopped on the track........Michael Fox had led most this race with the #292 right on his heels.... the #71x made it up to the front taking the lead from 5th spot.... on the checkered flag lap Shamhart spun out giving the win to Michael Fox who had been right behind him , Bobby Allen took 2nd, Jay Jones 3rd, Huddleston 4th, Vinnedge 5th, Stryzinski 6th and Shamhart 7th...

on the start of the feature the #28 of Mike Bolyard got out to the lead and never looked back...Matt Gouldan held on to second for a while with Fox then Moore , then Kinder, then Shaw, B Allen, McNeely, Jones, Shamhart and Anderson.................with 8 laps in and 16 to go the #47 of Mike Stryzinski hit the tire in turn four and went airborne..he came down on his lid.... was a nasty crash...glad he was ok....
Kinder had made it up to third behind Bolyard and Gouldan.....Fox, Shaw, Moore was right behind...
Kinder picked off Gouldan for the second spot and what a race the #28 and the #22s put on for the crowd...........Mike held his spot with Chad working the high side then going to the low side.... just could not pick off Bolyard.......... .....................with 6 laps in ther was a really bad crash with the #55 of Jay Jones, the #1m of Chris Moore and the #18 of Matt Huddleston.... I didn't see what started it...all I seen was Jay sideways and Chris Moore going straight up in the air and coming down on top of the #55 of Jones.........Huddleston could not get shut down in time and hit the front end of Moore..........was so glad to see all these guys get out of their car.......it looked bad....
with 17 down and 8 to go it was Bolyard, Kinder, Shaw , Fox, Allen, Gouldan, Shamhart, McNeely,Anderson and Wellum top ten.............on the restart the #00 got spun around in front of the grand stand...had to go to tail...
