Tri City Speedway... Pontoon Beach

wow...what a surpirse.... I had no plans to go to Tri City tonight.... my hubby had to work and I never even thought about it..... but.... my dear friends Mark and Gennie Bare sent me a message and told me to meet them at Team #22 shop if I wanted to go...............well.....................yippy yippy yeah !!! By four oclock I was heading to Tri City...

We got there right in time for the drivers meeting so I did not get to interview anyone.... I walked around and all seemed pretty involved with working on their cars so I did not bother any of them...
One of my viewers smile.gif Andrew Sibert who says he comes to my site daileybut has not signed up yet BUT IS GOING TO...RIGHT ???? unsure.gif introduced me to Kody Aldrich.... I did get an interview with him....

My friend Gennie Bare took pictures as we walked through the pit area and then watched them go onto the track...

I finally got to see my all time favorite family J B and Becky Robinson and KENT ROBINSON... has been a long time since i got to see them...... this was Kent's first time at Tri City....

There were 43 modified and 34 late model on hand tonight....

In the modifieds there were five heats..... taking 4 to feature....two consi's.... in late model there were 4 heats and two consi's........

In heat one you had Martintoni and Scott Weber on front row with #16 of Myers and the #7r of Kent Robinson on second row.....on third row was Chris Smith and Dave Myers...fourth row was Bobby Regot III and James Reed...bring up the tail was Brett Korves....................the first caution came out for the #40 of Regot when he spun in turn 4......Scotty Weber had jumped out to the lead with Martintoni on his tail..the #16 of Myers was in third.............second caution came out for the #16 of Myers....looked like he blew his engine.... on same caution the #00jr of Dave Myers stopped in turn 3.....there were four laps in........ Scotty Weber stayed in the front from start to finish with Martintoni 2nd, 3rd was Chris Smith, 4th was Kent Robinson, 5th was Reed and last was Regot III...

Heat two you had the #5m of Bobby Eiler and #94 of Ed Lenhardt on front row...2nd row was Denny Schwartz and Matt Verbeck...3rd row was Eric Bruce and Mike Harrison...4th row was Ray Walsh and Matt Gouldan... last was Aaron Klein.............first caution came out when the #13 of Klein spun collecting the #128 of Bruce..............next caution comes out for the #128 when he spins between turns 3 and 4................Bobby Eiler got out in front and stayed there to the finish with Mike Harrison 2nd...Denny Schwartz 3rd...Walsh, Gouldan, Verbeck, Lenhardt and Klein....

Heat three you had Tommy Seets, jr and Matt Mevert on front row,,,, second row was Chad Kinder and Anthony Lach....third row was Marty Smith and Jeff Ely...fourth row was Jeff Leka and Chad Evans...tail was Wade Ehrhardt.................first caution came out when the #7c of Seets bumped Kinder and caused them both to spin out.... to the tail they went.......the #01 of Lach and the # 55 of Smith collided......the #01 spins out.............no flag................ended with Matt Mevert taking first, 2nd going to Jeff Leka and third to Chad Kinder.... then Evans, and then Marty Smith...

Heat four you had Bobby Bittle and Tim Hancock on front row...2nd row was Vanderiet and Everett Bradham....3rd row was Tony Patterson and Kevin Weaver...4th row is Gary Cook,jr and Kelly Duvall....this went caution free with Kevin Weaver taking the win coming from 6th, 2nd was Bittle, then Bradham, Vanderiet, Hancock, Duvall and Cook,jr....

Heat five you had Steve Picou and Steve Lach on front row...2nd row was Kyle Byerline and Terry McClintock, 3rd was Ferber and Steve Meyer,jr, 4th row was Lennox and Draffin....
.....caution one came out when the #10f and the #22c collided in turn two.......ended with Picou taking the win....Byerline, Meyer, Draffin, Lach and McClintock..

Dash had Weber and Eiler in front row, 2nd row is Mevert and Weaver, tail was Picou....ended with Weaver taking win...Mevert...Picou...Weber.... and Eiler...

caution one came out when the #22c spins out in turn 4... no laps in....
the #01 of Lach pulls off after one lap in..............the #55 of Marty Smith was letting it all hang out... he was flying high......he and Lach was going back n forth but Smith got to high and got passed... it ended with Tim Hancock holding onto first, 2nd went to Lach, 3rd went to Smith, then Ely, Lennox, Patterson and then Verbeck...

this went caution free..... Gouldan took the win with Regot III, Duvall, Cook,jr..Bruce and McClintock

FEATURE....

Weaver and Mevert on front row....Picou and Weber on second row...Eiler and Martintoni third...Bittle and Leka 4th row...

........first caution came out with 4 laps in.............the 22m of Mevert pulls off in lap 6......the #24 of Mike Harrison slows on track and then pulls off..............caution comes out for #155 of Chris Smith...on restart comes out for the #155 ................after restart the #21s gets into the #43a of Everett Bradham...looked like Bradham was going to turn it over but saved it............Kevin Weaver got into the lead right from the start and never looked back....the #48 of Martintoni held on the the second place finish with Jeff Leka making it up to third.. Picou took 4th, Bittle, Eiler, Weber, Schwartz, Smith, Kinder, Evans, Byerline, Robinson,Gouldan,

There was not a hole lot of passing going on....... in turn four there was a lot of accidents.... something needs to be done with that corner.... lots of cars were tore up there.....
will write up about the late models tomorrow and add pics........i gotta go to bed..

In heat one for the late model you had Wes Stedinger and Billy Moyer on the front row, 2nd row was Peyton Taylor and Shannon Babb, 3rd row was Jeremy Payne and the #38 of Little, 4th row was Mark Faust and Jason Feger, bring up the tail was Chad Zobrist........ended with Billy Moyer taking first (blew his engine in the heat) , Shannon Babb, Wes Stedinger, Jeremy Payne, Mark Faust, Feger, Taylor, Zobrist and Little...

Heat two front row was Steffens and Erb, 2nd row was Vaught and Oneal, 3rd row was Melvin and Ratajczyk, 4th row is Kloos and Collins and tail is Randy Korte........ended with Vaught taking the win, Korte who came from the tail to take 2nd, Rodney Melvin 3rd, Oneal who was bumped pretty good at the start of the race finished 4th, Kloos, Collins and Dennis Erb...

Heat three you had Sullivan and Dixon on front row, Millard and Voigt on 2nd row, McCormick and Bauman on 3rd row...row 4 was Kevin Cole and Tim Manville...........the #50 of Ed Dixon hit the concrete wall in turn four and collected the #42 of McCormick for the first and only caution.....Dixon pulled off......the #18 of Jack Sullivan led the whole race with Kevin Cole moving up from dead last to finish 2nd..Bauman took 3rd, Manville, Voigt, Millard and McCormick...

Heat four you had Billy Faust and Bill Frye on front row, 2nd row Kiefer and Terry Phillips, 3rd row Hammerle and Griffaw, 4th row is Jason McBride and Shepperd..............in about the same spot that Dixon hit the wall the #16 of Griffaw hit and collected the #77 of McBride..... Rusty had a lot of body damage to his car........he pulled out.........Billy Faust started out leading the race and stayed there until lap 8 and then the #75 of Terry Phillips took over and stayed there to the finish with Faust taking 2nd, Frye 3rd, Shepperd, Hammerle, Kiefer and McBride...

Faust, Melvin, Frye.......by lap 8 Billy Moyer pulled off.... lap 13 the #1 of Vaught took 2nd from Korte..........1st caution came on lap 17 when the #14 of Millard spun out.....with 24 laps in Jason Feger pulls off...... ..........at half way Phillips, Vaught, Babb, Korte, Cole, Frye, B Faust, Melvin, Sullivan, Stedinger, Shepperd, Bauman, Oneal, Payne, Kloos, Erb, Manville and Millard....... on restart the #14 of Millard spins again in turn four... he goes off................on restart the cars bunched up on back stetch causing the #42 of McCormick to spin out...........on the next restart cars bunched up again with McBride, M Faust and Jeremy Payne crashing...Payne pulls off............next restart they went double file............. finished
