Mike Perry is 34 years old and lives in Mt. Carmel, Illinois
He runs the #1p Hornet which is a Toyota Celica GT with a 2.2 engine
His hometrack is Clay County Speedway........ HIs favorite track to run is Nebo, Ky...
Mike started his racing career out in duro;s and demolition's and raced them for many years... In 2003 he decided to go into the hornet division..
He told me that his inspiration for racing came from his father Walter...said he grew up around it... His dad Walter raced in the Florida area....
He feels to be a good driver you need to have paitence....
HIs goal in racing is to one day claim the track championship at CCS..
Mike said that his toughest competitor has been Timmy Snelling...
When asked if he thought there was anything in racing that needed to be changed he told me he feels the RULES...........siad they needed to be consistent............
A racing highlight that stands out for Mike is when he was racing at Greenville and got his car up on two wheels going around a turn...................
He likes to race the high groove on a dry slick track....
