Zac Griffith is 16 years old and lives in Newton , Illinois...
He is the youngest brother of Josh Griffith #97.... The car that Zac was driving is Josh's backup car...
The #97x Monte Carlo with a Butch Gordon engine...
Zac considers Clay County his hometrack and being tonight is the first night he has driven a race car he has no favorite track to race on.... He did say that he loves going to Farmer City to watch the races...
I asked Zac what had inspired him to start racing and he said being around his brother Josh Griffith...
He told me the driver he most admires........you guessed it........Josh Griffith...
and when I asked him who his toughest competitor was and expected him to say he didn't know yet.....he answered with "himself"....
His long term goal in racing for right now is just to finish the race.....
I asked him whether he preferred the high or low groove...... dry slick or tacky track....... he told me to come back in a couple of weeks and ask him that question..
..HIs Crew Chief is Jake Griffith and the whole family I think is his Team Members..
He told me he wanted to thank Josh for giving him this opportunity and to thank his dad Johnny and his mom Verna...
Well Zac I did keep my eye on you last night....... you have a good head on your shoulders.... and you did finish the race...... you impressed me...... goodluck with your racing career....
