Glenn Stephens is 45 years old and lives in Centralia, Illinois with his wife Cindy and two children Jason and Jacob...
Glenn runs the #00 Crate late model with a CJ Rayburn chassi and a 604 engine..
His number #00 is his youngest sons baseball number...
He considers both Mt Vernon and Clay County as his hometracks... however his favorite track to run is Clay County..
Glenn told me that he started racing in 1995 in go carts..... went into modifieds in 2000 and went into the crate late model this year.....
I asked him what got him inspired to start racing and he told me that he had been around racing all his life..... said he was just a very competitive person... he even raced motorcyles...
Drivers that he most admires is Shannon Babb and Scott Bloomquist..
Driver he feels has been his toughest competitor has been Matt Mevert..
He feels to be a good driver you need to have patience...."LOTS OF PATIENCE"....
His goal in racing is just to have fun.... when you can't have fun it is time to quit.... have to understand that you can't win all the races....
When asked if there was anything in racing he felt needed changed he told me he thought the attitudes of the drivers.....needs to be less whinners............. just race and have fun....
A highlight that stands out for him was winning six features in the modified division his first year at Greenville..
Glenn likes to run the low groove on a tacky track..
His crew chief is his brother Carl and his crew member is Brian Johnson..
