Boy........did it ever feel good to be able to once again be able to walk around the pit area and get some pictures and get some interviews...........I sure have missed it...!!!!!
It was the Wolfpack Challenge for the modifieds with a $1000 to win..... sorry I didn't get to run into Tim Wolfe.......he is a super nice guy...always enjoy talking with him...
I did run into Sean Franklin from CARS and had a really nice chat....... I personally want to thank the CARS guys that show up week after week at CCS.........they are true to their word.... and it was really nice to see Steve Maisel there last night.... he comes from House Springs, MIssouri.... said he liked the track and would be back......I got an interview with him.... Nic Lyons was there.....he always puts on a great show..... got to meet Danny Jolly and got an interview...he is running the #51 car...he said that his car was tore up in a wreck at CCS with Shane Cockrum..... he said he owed Jimmy Burrell, Al Kreke and Mike and Bill Cooksey big time... he said that these guys have loaned him their cars since his #U2 car has been out of commission to help him keep up with the CARS SERIES POINTS............... now how great is that ........... got to finally meet Glen Stephens and got an interview with him......the #01 of Montaque , the #71 of Louie Baker,jr, the #38 of Rick Fuller and the #52r of Rylan Dagg were also there and help support CCS...THANKYOU ...THANKYOU THANKYOU..... you guys are fun to watch....hope more CARS will come and join you....
Went over and talked with Chad Kinder and Team #22... he is always so friendly and always talks to the fans that come to his pit area.....there was some there buying tee shirts..... I have one of his new black sweat shirts.... they are sharp and just got one of his 2007 tee shirts... pretty sharp....
Talked with Randy McNeely and Ratley and Greg Burkett... always fun to talk with them... I always go away laughing..........
I went over to Darrell Beckham's pit area and talked with him.... he was having a good night...really looked good in his heat which he won and then went out in the feature and put on a good show battling with Josh Griffith and Matt Hines and taking the win..... great job Darrell......... thanks for helping me find Danny Jolly... I was looking for the #U2....
I ran into the driver of the #500 Steve Adams and asked who was driving the other #500 car... it was a very handsome 15 year old boy "Tres Mehler".... I found out he was from my hometown of Oblong.. yep.... I got an interveiw.........very nice kid.....
I also got an interview with Mike Stryzinski #47.... was nice to meet him... very easy to talk with....
I approached Brent Warner #20, and Mike Boylard #28 but they were both busy working on their cars... I am sorry I didn't make it back to the pit area...... I tried getting the Vinnedge boys but the modified feature started while there and I had to get back to the bleachers.... hope to catch up with all these guys soon....
I did minimal walking through the pit area and missed some that I would have liked to have met... hopefully soon..... sorry I missed Joe Reed #22 hornets, Leann Crane #72 and Mike Perry #1p... I am looking forward to meeting you guys and gal and getting an interview...
Racing was great tonight in all divisions........
In the modifieds it is so good to have Chad Kinder back at CCS.... you know I follow him no matter what track he goes to but CCS in my favorite to go to and love being back there..... last week Chad drove the Pierce house car and won the feature... last night he drove his pierce car and won..... looked good out there Chad............always exciting to watch.... I know everytime you went around turn one and turn three and I know had to be brushing that wall I think my husband was holding his breath.....you do like to get us on the edge of our seats.....
Was good to see Eddie Shamhart out there again.... been a while since I seen him..... I went to the pit area to say hello to him and told him he was lookin good.... he said he was a little rusty......didn't look rusty to me.......he won the first heat by a land slide...
Winners of the modified heats were Eddie Shamhart....Mike Stryzinski and Chad Kinder....Chad Kinder was the winner of the Feature by a landslide.........great job Chad !!!! he said he was taking next weekend off to spend time with his wife Geena and two daughters Payton and Sidney.... I have yet to see Sidney but Payton is a little doll....
There were only ten VERY IMPORTANT CARS there making two heats.....winners of the heats were Rylan Dagg and Nic Lyons and the Feature winner was Nic Lyons....
In the street stock the winners of the heats were Josh Griffith #97, Darrell Beckham #11 and the #8 1/2 of Simmons.......
The feature race was pretty exciting..... there was a big battle for that front spot... Josh Griffith led at the beginning with Darrell Beckham on his heels and JR Dunlap hot on Darrell's heels....Matt Hines is in 4th but putting on pressure.....with 7 laps in the #57 had taken over the 3rd spot from JR Dunlap.....when the checkered flag came out Darrell Beckham had worked his way up to the front with Matt Hines close behind....Josh Griffith came across 3rd and Tim Feldhake was a very close 4th.... was a good race...
In the hornets the heat winners were Timmy Snelling #14, Mike Morrison #54m, Joe Reed #22 and the #1s of Sandifer.....
at the beginning of the feature we had a real scarey accident when the #101 flipped and landed on his lid..... was glad to see him get out of the car.............in the feature the #22 of JOe Reed got around the #14 of Timmy Snelling and never looked back.... stayed there to the finish with Snelling, then Morrison and the the #52 and then the #1p of Mike Perry.....
Rick Crane had to pull out fairly early..... sure hope nothing serious.... last weekend he blew his engine...
