CLAY COUNTY SPEEDWAY
MAY 26, 2007

Michael Kloos is 23 years old and is single... He lives in Trinton, Illinois..

Michael runs the #6k crate late model with a Bob Pierce Chassi and a 602 crate engine...
The reason behind his car number.... he said that was the number his dad Rick Kloos used when he raced...

He considers Highland Speedway as his home track but his favorite to run on is Peverly...

Michael told me that he started racing go carts at the age of 12 and went into a late model 7 years ago...

What inspired Michael to start racing was his dad. Said he had always been around racing.. that it is a family thing...

The driver that he most admires.........his father Rick Kloos
The driver he considers his toughest competitor......Randy Korte

When I asked him what he thought it took to be a good driver...he told me 'PATIENCE'....

Michael's long term goal in racing is just to keep on racing and to have fun doing it...

I asked if there was anything in racing he would like to see changed and he told me he was pretty much satisified...

The highlight that stands out for him is winning his first ever UMP Late Model race...

He likes to run the high groove on a dry slick track... He told me that racing on a tacky track shows what your motor can do and is fun................on a dry slick track it is more of a drivers track...you have to be a good driver....

He is the Crew Chief for Team #6k and his crew members are Gary and Brian Gerstner, his dad Rick and Justin Rackers..

He said he would like to give a big thankyou to everyone who has helped him out ... he sure does appreciate it...

Michael...thankyou so much for the interview.... was great to get to meet you....good luck with your season..
