Clay County Speedway
May 26, 2007

Well... we were all hoping that we would get to see some racing tonight but everyone knew it would be real iffy.....

It poured on us as we were getting to Olney... I called Margene and she said they had not got any rain at Flora.... so after eatting at Ty's we headed that way..
At the pit gate I ran into Randy McNeely.... always great to talk with....

I went and got my seat in the grandstand and headed to the pit area to get some interviews and pictures..
First interview I got was the #r52 of Rylan Dagg... very friendly ... he and his wife are expecting their third child in August..after two girls they are waiting for the arrivial of their first son...
I ran into Sean Franklin, promoter of the CARS Series.... He gave me a CARS TEE SHIRT..... thankyou so much Sean.... I really appreciate that....
Jim Norton "lil Jim" came up to say hello ........I had not seen Jim in a long time...was nice to see him...

Next I interviewed Louie Baker,jr #71........and his son Nathan.... they were fun to interview...really nice ..I have had several tell me that Louie was a really nice guy...
Next I ran into Chuck Still ...the #5s........... he gave me an interview and I got to meet his girlfriend Kristie... was nice meeting them....
I wanted to get #U2 "Danny Jolly" but when I was by his car he was pretty busy so I went on...

I next went over to see Team #22........ got a few pictures and talked with Chad Kinder for a while and with Jamie, Luke, Kevin, Eric, Will and Dennis..... ... they had went to Jacksonville to race last night and headed to LaSalle but it had stormed up there really bad this morning so they headed back home and then headed to Flora...... as we were talking you could see the rain clouds moving in.......Chad told Don that when he went out to hot lap to put the door down cause when he came off the track he was loading it up....the rain was coming....
I went over and interviewed Michael Kloos #6k before the rain came.... glad I got to meet him... he is very nice also.....
As I headed back to the bleachers I took a few pics of the guys waiting to go on the track.... I no sooner got to my seat and it started sprinkling..... we picked our stuff up and headed to the car.....by then it was pouring......
On the way out of the parking lot the #8p street stock of Mike Pasley pulled out in front of us.... smile.gif If it had not been raining so hard I would have got out and ran up to your car Mike and gave you your stickers... if i had more time tonight I was going to find you....
As we got out on the highway the phone rang.... it was Dennis Waggle/Team #22........they were heading to Charleston to try and race...........we turned around and started heading that way and then decided not to go cause we figured the rain would catch up with Charleston too and we were not sure that the guys would get there in time............Dennis did call and say that they got put in the last heat at the tail....they went from 9th to 4th so was happy with that............... I called them to let them know that Danville cancelled for tomorrow and was told then that it was really lightning and looked iffy for getting the race in...that was around 9:30.... I have not heard from them since so i don't know ...............

Well......I didn't see any racing but I still had fun in the pit area..... I always enjoy meeting new people...
