Took us 3 hours to get to Fairbury and I opted not to go to the pit area.......so I did not get any interviews last night....
This is the third time I have been to this track..... this track is really set up good.... it has bleachers on both sides of the track.........covered grandstand .......... they have a retaining wall around the track....then there is probably ten feet between that and the stands which are set up off the ground.... and really nice bleachers... pretty safety minded.....
When I first looked at the track I though oh my..... it was very muddy...........by race time it was packed down ok but on the high side there was a lot of loose mud.....
It was a $1200 to win race for modifieds ..........they had late model and sportsman as well....
A real nice crowd of people...........
One of the girls in the Leka bunch came by me during qualifying and told me that Pam was at Lincoln with her son who was racing a modified for the first time tonight.............THAT HAD TO BE ON JEFF'S MIND....found out later Jeffrey took 2nd in his heat and finished 6th in the Feature...
Fairbury runs a very smooth program.... they went from one event right into another without any intermissions....
In hot laps for the modifieds ,,,,I think it was #16..... hit the barrells right in front of me and he got up on the concrete wall .. I thought he was going over it for sure..... he was done for the night....
McKay Wenger had a rough night..had to pull out in the dash and in the feature he lost his drive shaft...
Jeff Leka had trouble as well tonight pulling out of the feature with only 7 laps recorded....
Chad Kinder started the night out great with being top qualifier of 14.33 and taking first in the dash...In the feature he was out to an early lead til he made a bobble letting the #128 of Tuckwell get around him... he fought his car all night hitting the wall several times and finally ending his night when he hit the wall in front of grandstand cutting a tire....
There were quite a few cars that broke last night and did not finishe their heats or features....

I took some pictures.........will add them shortly
