Get in, strap up, hang on, and smash the loud pedal, as Billy takes you for the ride of your life, and if you're lucky maybe you'll get to see victory lane and visit track photographer Bob Skelly.

DAN HAMSTRA 50

Billy Wicker is 40 years old and lives in Bradley, Illinois with his wife Lorie and children Axle and Justine..

Billy runs the #55 street stock which is a Monte Carlo with a Rhyne III Engine..
He said how he ended up with the #55 for his car was that he originally wanted to go with the #5 but there already was a car with that number where he raced so he just added a #5...

Billy considers Kankakee as his hometrack and it also is his favorite to race....

Billy started his racing career in 1988 racing in the street stock division...

I asked him what had inspired him to start racing and he told that he had always liked racing.... He said that he had met his wife Lorie at the racetrack and that Lorie had raced a hornet and that her whole family was very involved with racing..

The driver that he most admires is Scott Bloomquist....

When I asked him who he thought his toughest competitor was he told me there were to many to name..said there was a lot of good drivers in the street stock division at Kankakee..

He told me that he feels it takes patience to be a good driver ........ and being smooth...

Billy's goal in racing is to be the best he can be and to bring his car home in one piece....

He like so many others feel the cost of racing needs to be controlled.....and the payouts should be better...

A highlight that stands out for him is winning the track championship in 1999, 2000 and 2001 at Kankakee...... I would say that was a very worthy highlight....Three championships in a row!!!

Billy likes to race the high groove on a dry slick track....

His Crew Chief is his wife Lorie.....

Billy told me he wanted to send a big thankyou to his wife....

Thankyou Billy for the interview......... was nice meeting you and your son Axle.... goodluck this season..
