Jeff Greenwood is 45 years old and lives in Iuka, Illinois.... he told me he was going to lie to me about his age but he couldn't cause his brother was sitting there
Jeff is single...
Jeff runs the #G0 modified with a Pierce chassi and a Weber Engine...
I asked him if he had a reason behind his number and he said he did.... said back in the 70's his brother Darroll raced up in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and raced on asphalt...said that is the number he had used...
Jeff claims Clay County as his hometrack and also his favorite to run...
Jeff started his racing career out in the super street division at age 38 and went into the modified this year...
I asked him what had inspired him to start racing and he told me his brother Darroll had..
The driver he says that he most admires is "CHAD KINDER" and MIKE BOYLARD...and when I asked who his toughest competitor was he said "ALL OF THEM ARE TOUGH"..
Jeff told me he felt to be a good driver you have to have good equipment and a lot of money....
HIs goal would be to take the UMP Championship....
I asked Jeff if there was anything in racing he would like to see change and he told me that he was pretty much satisfied...
Jeff likes to run the low groove on a dry slick track...
His Crew Chief is his dad Delbert Greenwood and his team consists of his brother Darroll and his friend Rodney Armstrong..
He said he wanted to give a big thanks and he said he means BIG THANKS to his dad Delbert ......... said without him he couldn't do this....
Well let me tell you........ it was very entertaining interviewing Jeff and his brother Darroll..... it was extremely pleasant to see the closeness of this family... they joked and teased each other and had me laughing so much I didn't want to leave...
Thankyou so much for the interview and I wish you luck with your venture in the modified.....
Keep that attitude and you will always enjoy your racing and people will enjoy watching you.............so glad I got to meet the face behind the #G0..
