Jay Gordon is 30 years old and lives in Sandoval, Illinois... He is single
Jay runs the #62X hornet.. It is a Ford Probe with a mazda engine
When asked where he called his hometrack.... He said "all of em" then said Clay Co..
His favorite track to run is Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway..
I asked Jay if there was a reason behind his #62X and he told me that his dad raced too and he used the number 62 so he just added the X...
I asked him how he got involved in racing and he told me that he had helped work in the pit crew for a late model driver at age 13 ... got him motivated to try it himself... his dad started racing after he got into it...
Driver that he most admires is JEFF GORDON
Jay told me that you need a good car.. have a lot of patience and run on a good track to be a good driver..
His goal in racing is to be the UMP pts champ...
I asked him if he thought there was anything in racing that needed to be changed and he told me he thought that there should be more of an effort to enforce the rules and to make sure that the rules are carried out... make SURE the cars are legal....
Jay likes to run the high groove on a dry slick track..
He is his own Crew Chief and occassionally has friends that will help him out in the pit area...
He wanted to give a BIG THANKS out to his mom "Pat Newcomb".... he appreciates her very much!!!
Thankyou for the interview Jay... very much appreciated... was nice to meet you... I hope you have a great season!!
