Frank Heckenast,jr is 18 yrs old and lives in Orland Park, Illinois..
Frank has two late model's........ one is a CJ Rayburn and the other is a Masterbilt..
His engine is a Rhnye
I asked Frank if he had a reason for his #99jr... He told me that it was the same number that his dad Frank,Sr and his sister Sherri use... he is keepin it in the family...
Frank claims Kankakee as his home track but his favorite to run is the track his sister owns.......Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway....
He started his racing career out in a late model at the age of fifteen years old...and without even asking we know he got his inspiration to start racing from his dad Frank, Sr...
The driver that he most admires is Shannon Babb...
He said that his toughest competitor has been Jason Fegers....
When I asked Frank what he thought it took to be a good driver he told me "THE WANT TO"........... you have to want it...........
His goal in racing is to win every time he goes out on the track.... every race!!!
I asked Frank ,jr if there was a highlight in his career that had stood out for him.... he told me that he was picked out of 500 drivers...it was narrowed down to 12 and he was one of them to race on asphalt.........he did not like racing on asphalt and returned to the dirt track......
When asked if there was anything in racing he would like to see changed he talked in length about how he wishes he could get the people to give dirt track racing a chance.... He said that Nascar has a great following and he feels Nascar is boring... He said if the fans of racing would just go to a dirt track and give them a chance that they would like it.........
(****well Frank.... I do agree.... but I like Nascar too... and they do have the popularity... and I think that a lot of the Nascar drivers are starting to help the dirt tracks out...Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt,jr, Carl Edwards, Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace all show up at dirt tracks... that exposure I think will help the dirt tracks....)

Frank,,,,was a treat to talk with you..... you diffinately come from a racing family..I have a lot of respect for your sister Sherri.... hope to get your dad for an interview this year too..
