KAMP MOTOR SPEEDWAY
WOLFPACK SERIES......$1000 TO WIN
APRIL 21, 2007

McKay Wenger is 19 years old and is single... He lives in Fairbury, Illinois...

McKay runs the #42 modified with a Pierce chassi and Bull Power Engine

He claims Fairbury as his hometrack and his favorite track to run is Spoon River..

I asked McKay if there was a reason behind his number #42... He told me that his dad had been big into sports and that was the number he used...

He told me that he started his racing career in a go-cart at age 12 yrs.. and went into a modified at age 17 yrs..

I asked him what had inspired him to start racing.......he told me he always liked going to the go cart tracks and watching ...then decided he wanted to race... ...

He told me that the drivers he most admires is Jeff Leka and Denny Schwartz... AND they are also the drivers he feels is his toughest competitors...

He thinks patience is what it takes to be a good driver and you need to listen to what others tell you and you need to keep your equipment in good shape...

His goal in racing is to be able to get into a late model and do it for a living...

I asked him how he felt about the crate late models..........he told me he would not mind starting out in that class but would still like to run late model...

I asked if there was a highlight that stood out for him..... He told me it was his first feature win at Spoon River.... he told me he passed Jeff Leka on the last lap to win......that was a real rush for him..
Another highlight was taking 2nd in points at Farmer City last year (2006) and was 39th in UMP points..
He also was the Rookie of the Year in 2005 at Kankakee ........and in his go cart years he had to Championships...

He said he did not care where he ran.....high or low groove..........just whatever was working at the time..but he does like to run on a dry slick track..

He is his own Crew Chief and his Team Members include Rook and his dad Dave

He said he would like to give a special thanks out to all his sponsors for their help and to his fans....

McKay.... was really nice to meet you.... you really put on a good show in your heat going from 4th to second in the last lap..... I enjoy watching you race... goodluck this season...
