Got to track about an hour early so I could go down and get some interviews. was looking for Rick Weekly, Jammie Wilson and Derik Losh...never found Derik... the pit was packed with haulers... they started sending them into the middle of the track... Pam Leka and I stood there and was getting very nervous watching them pull in and try to park in very limited areas.... anywhere there was an open space was taken up with a hauler..
I ran into Rick Weekly first and really enjoyed our interview..very nice guy as all of the guys I interviewed last night were...... while talking with Ricky Craig Conyer and Wes McClara came over to talk with me....
Next I went to a #4h and asked for the driver.....they all pointed to this cute kid sitting in the hauler and said "Suzie Q" here is......... I laughed and thought they were teasing me BuT they weren't..Jacob Jernagan is only 14 years old...tonight was going to be his second time in the car........ I told him I would be watching him and told my whole group who he was.........I was very impressed with Jacob...he is gonna be around for a long time .watch for his name....
Next I found Dale Hayes for an interview and he went on to be the winner tonight of the Modified Wolfpack $1000 Feature....
McKay Wenger....what a cute kid and very polite.... he sure did put on the most exciting heat when he came from 4th to take 2nd in the last lap....
Jammie Wilson... I have watched Jammie ever since I have been going to the races... he was very interesting to talk with and with him I really needed to get my tape recorder out... I could have talked with him for hours... ... this is why I love to do the interviews.... it makes it so much fun to put a face with a car number ....and I will never look at #61 the same way..........
I received a pm from Shane Cockrum a few days ago telling me that he really enjoyed the interviews...he said some of these guys he had raced with for over ten years and did not know a lot of the things he reads..
Interviews put a personality and a face to your car... a lot of fans never go to the pit area and it helps make them feel they know you when they know something about you...
I interviewed Chad Osterhoff who is really easy to talk with.....Frank Heckenast,jr...Cory Rolfe and Dusty Moore..... was glad to have had the opportunity to meet all of them...
I missed Jason Fegers...will try to get him next time as will still be looking for Derek Losh...maybe they will be at Danville tonight...
I had met Tim Wolfe "Wolfe-e at Terre Haute when Wizard was having his radio show.......was really nice to run into him again..... we talked for a while .... I am going to make him a section on the site to keep us updated on his Wolfpack series...
I stopped in at the TEAM #22 hauler and got to talk with my adopted kids...Chad Kinder, Will Snyder, Dennis Waggle, Don Kuhl and Luke.......... they have had their share of problems with their late model but they are figuring it out.......Chad went out and qualified very well 13.774 and second fastest in his group..Billy Faust was fastest in group with 13.742............fastest qualifier of night was the first car out of the shoot tonight FRANK HECKENAST,JR with 13.312...........
50 late models made up 6 heats...winners were Mike Magaragus #1m, Jason Fegers #25, #9; Chad Kinder #22s and Kevin Cole..
Now it gets a little confusing with the consi's..my daughter Michelle did them for me while I went to the pit area to say WAY TO GO to Chad Kinder and get a couple more interviews..

CONSI #2 was Billy Faust #26, 2nd was Boggs #10c and3rd was #35
