Mike Cawood is 33 years old and lives in Whiteland, Indiana with his wife Debbie and daughter Emily..
He runs the #12 street stock with a Hobbs Chassi and a chevy engine..
He considers Brownstown Speedway as his home track and also his favorite to race...
I asked him if there was a reason behind his car number and he told me no...that the number was on it when he bought it and he decided to keep it...
Mike started his racing career at age 27 in the super stock division and still has the same car.... said it is a really good car ...
I asked him what had inspired him to start racing.... he told me that he had always been a fan...one day the opportunity came along and he went for it.....
He feels to be a good driver you need to have patience and a lot of confidence...
I asked if he had a goal and he told me....one was to win a feature at Brownstown and long term was to one day get the chance to race late model....
When I asked Mike who his toughest competitor was he said there are too many to name.... He said anyone on the track can be tough... it goes in cycles.... one season a certain driver may be on top...the next season it will be another driver....
I asked him if he feels anything in racing needed to be changed... He said not really for the street stock...but did add....that it needs to be fair for everyone....
The racing highlight that stands out for him is taking his first win at Paragon and it being only his 3rd race ever...
Mike likes to run the low groove on a dry slick track.....
His crew chief is his dad Rob...
Crew members are Ed Johnson and Ray Ridgley
Mike wanted to give a special thanks to his 'GRANDMA P" ....... and to all his family member..
Also his sponsors Langley Towing and Hot Rod Welding....
Mike...thankyou so much for the interview..... you were in demand....
I had been looking for you for a while but kept missing you..... real nice meeting you...
