Fast Joe Reed runs every sat nite at Mighty Macon Speedway, Macon IL.
Joe is current points leader in the Hornet Division. He runs a 1998 Hyundai Tiburon. Mad Fast car!!! Joe has won 5 of the last 6 features run in the tiburon. the first time out he was leading the race when the shifter cable came off. we had no idea what the car would do when we took it out but it proved that it was fast. we fixed that shifter and wow the things that car can do!!!
Joe's racing career includes being two time track champion in the bomber division at macon speedway. he's been racing for 25yrs.
Joe is a dedicated family man. He is very proud of his children Jeremy, Brady, Hailey and Jacer Racer. All of which show potential in being drivers. Son Jeremy currently runs the R33D mazda hornet at macon. he achieved his first checkered a few weeks ago in a semi-feature, way to go Big Perm!!!
Joe loves the kids at the track and quite a lot of them join in the winners circle for pics when he is blessed with a win!!!
Joe Bob is my favorite racer and my bestfriend.

Fast Joe finished out the month of July with a bang at Mighty Macon Speedway, saturday nite. Sweeping the month of July at Macon, Farmer City and the Dave Evans Memorial at VCS.
Last nites racing was exciting (and nerve racking, car came home with a little more character..lol)
After getting spun in the last lap of the heat, joe won the semi to make it to the feature. Joe came from the back to race hard and close with Bruce Dulgar in a side by side race for the checkered flag!!!
Great driving to both Joe and Bruce. Bruce is awesome competition for us at Mighty Macon Speedway, he's great to race with, he always races clean and hard!!! It's always exciting racing when it's the two of them up front. You can see the street stock driver come back out in both on them on nights like saturday.
Exciting racing in all classes at Mighty Macon Speedway as always, if you haven't been lately...You should come on down and see some first class racing!!! The RACING does not disappoint!!!

What a season....we have faced many highs and lows this season.
Early in the season Joe was working up to 110 hrs a week and still racing 2 and 3 nights a week. This was tough, some nights I would be alone on the interstate driving the truck and trailer to meet Joe at the track so he could race. He would leave what ever job he was out of town on, come meet me at the track, race and then drive straight back to work....big thanks to his boss Mat Elvenholl of Eagle Services in Decatur for understanding Joe's need to chase the dream!
We've had several dissappointments this season...Joe lost his temper one night and said some things he shouldn't have and spent the rest of his season trying to overcome the way people looked at him. Had a real bad night at Flora one night, flipped the car on it's nose 4 times. Blown a motor, lost tires (off the car and one off the trailer that caused an accident on the way to race one night)...you name it and it probably happened.
We were also very blessed this season, 34 feature wins!!! An awesome, awesome year. Very tiring, we raced 3 nights a week pretty consistently all year. I put over 12,000 miles on the tow vehicles this year.
We raced all over the state this year...Farmer City, Danville, Macon, Flora, Kankakee, Quincy, Jacksonville, Jefferson County, Charleston and Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro KY. We renewed old friendships and made a lot of new friends. Racers are just the best!!!
Joe raced his heart out all season long, chasing car counts trying to be the first UMP 4 cyl champ for his region. Sometimes we just couldn't make it to where the cars were due to his job taking him a 100 miles north of home and all the tracks that counted for us. But we gave it our all. Joe led the points all season long and it looks like he will end up with a second place finish. The last weekend of points, Ryan Eilers of Highland passed Joe by two points. It's still unoffical but I'm pretty sure it's a 2nd place finish. He is the Champion to me!!!~~no matter what the UMP comes out to be. He was able to earn the title at Farmer City as the 2007 Hornet Points Champion. and 3rd in points at VCS, 6th at Macon...and top ten at I think one more track just can't think of whick one right now..lol
I've seen all different sides to him this year...he is a very generous person, he gave away trophys and bicycles, donated some of his winnings to Circles of Hope, helped other racers with parts and fixing things (sometimes at the expense of his car not getting worked on). I've seen him mad as a hornet and showing his A$$ (not his best side but as a lot of you know a lot of racers are very passionate and sometimes things become heated and out of hand). I've seen him broken hearted when the car flipped and joyous when we got her put back together and she was just as strong as ever. She just had a lot more character in the looks department...the ground doesn't give much when you slam into.
We have a name for our car...Christine...like the movie, we found her abandoned on the edge of a cornfield and brought her to life, she flipped out, blew up and she just keeps coming back...lol
Well it's about time to put christine to bed for the winter and wind down. take a breath. we probably won't run a full season next year...maybe gonna travel some out of state and just enjoy ourselves.
Special thanks to our 2007 sponsors...22nd discount liquor, Decatur Used CArs, Muddboss video, Highside Graphix, it was great working with them to have such a fine season!!
Well that's the story for 2007, take care over the winter everyone
