Nick Allen is twenty three years old and lives in Wheatfield, Indiana.
He runs the #21 modified with a Bob Pierce Chassi and a Patrick 415 engine.
He told me there was no real reason behind his number... Said that was the number he used when he raced go-carts and he just stayed with it.....
He claims Shady Hills as his home track and his favorite track to run is Kankakee..
He started his racing career out in go-carts at the age of 14... He started racing modifieds in 2001..
I asked what motivated him to start racing... He told me that his Uncle Keith had raced both modified and late model so he had been around it while growing up..
The driver that Nick most admires is Shannon Babb...
When I asked him what he thought it took to be a good driver he told me that you need to be level headed and to have patience...
I asked what his goal in racing was and he looked at me and said.... Well.... getting to Nascar... He laughed and said Isn't that everyone's.......
He told me that his toughest competitor who he goes up against alot is Dan Hamstra....
I asked him if there was anything about racing he would like to see changed....He told me he was pretty much satisfied...
Racing Highlights that stand out for him has been winning two track championships at Shady Hills...
Nick likes running the High Groove on a tacky track..
His Crew Chief is his Uncle Keith who is also his car owner
Team members are Brandon Owens, Jason Hudson and Josh Klein..
He said he wanted to give a special thanks to hus aunt and uncle Beth and Keith Allen.....
Nick... was a real pleasure meeting you.... thankyou for giving me some of your time... I am going to make sure I remember you...so .... you make sure you remember me when you get to Nascar... I will want another interview...
