KLMS "99" Event
May 5 and 6 , 2006

Damon Eller is 26 years old.. He lives in Crumpler, North Carolina.

He runs the # I 4 with a masterbilt chassi and a Malcuit Engine/Jay Dickerson

I asked Damon if there was a reason behind his number and he told that it was the number his dad Randall had picked for him..

He started his racing career in the S10 Pickup division at age 23...he then went into the crate motor class for a year..then moved to a mixture of steel and crate for 2 year...then went with the super late model a year ago..

Damon considers Wythe Raceway in Virginia his home track...and also is his favorite track to race...

I asked Damon what had inspired him to start racing and he told me that he just enjoyed it..

When asked what driver he most admired..he told me TONY STEWART....he said that Tony has the ability to drive many different classes and do well...

He feels that to be a good driver you have to have plenty of concentration...and.... a lot of seat time...

When asked what his goal in racing was..He said it was to be as competitive as drivers like Don Oneal, Earl Pearson,jr and Scott Bloomquist are...

I asked Damon who his toughest competitors have been and he told me that all of them were tough..

Highlights for him are making the feature in the big race at Charlotte and making the race at KLMS..

On racing the high or low groove Damon said he races where it seems to be the fastest... On racing a dry slick or tacky track.....he said it didn't really matter to him...

His team consists of Nelson Weaver, Randall Eller (dad), Charlie Testerman, Greg Moore and John Schulte

He said he would like to give a special thanks to all his sponsors: Independence Saw Mill, Grayson Farm and Leasing, Fox Fire Realty, masterbilt and Malcuit Engines..

Would also like to thank everyone who has helped him along the way...

Damon... thankyou for giving me some of your time for the interview..very nice meeting you..
