I asked him if there was a reason behind his number... He told me that when his dad Dave Birkhofer started racing he used the number #15...so when he started racing he used the number #25.....then later he went to the #15...
When asked what had inspired him to start racing he told me that he had been around it his entire life...
Birky started racing at age 18 in the Pro Stock..then went to a late model at age 20..

He told me that he believed to be a good driver you need to be patient and.... it is important to KNOW when to be aggressive...
HIs goal is to win every major event at least once...
He told me that his toughest competitor has been Scott Bloomquist..
When asked if he felt there was anything in racing that needed to be changed he told me the biggest thing or most important thing to him was having more races so they could keep racing for a living.... He said that they need to have multiple series so that more cars CAN make a living at racing...
I asked Birky what one highlight in his career stood out for him.... He told me it was winning theWest Virginia Race in 2001 for $50,000 ... He told me that was his first major event that he had won... Said that was the event that made his name be known...
When I asked him which he preferred to race...the high or the low groove.... he said..."Well, driving the cushion is more fun and that is where I would rather race...
He likes running on a dry slick track....
He is the Crew Chief of his team
Crew members he said is Brad Anderson and other friends....
He said he wanted to thank all his sponsors for their help..
and wanted to say thankyou to everyone who supports him
