Darrell Lanigan is thirtyfive years old and has two children Tiffaney and Brittney.. He lives in Union, Kentucky..
Darrell runs the #29 Late Model with a Rocket Chassi and a Cornett Engine.
When asked if there was a reason behind his number he told me it was the number he had used for years..
Darrell calls Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky his home track.. His favorite track is Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
Darrell started racing at the age of eighteen and started out in the Late Model Division..
I asked Darrell what had inspired him to start racing and he told me it was just the SPEED...
The driver that he most admires is Dale Earnhardt.
His toughtest competitor he says is anyone in the WoW group..
He said that to be a good driver he feels you need to have consistency..
His goal is to win as many races as he can..
When asked if there was anything in racing that needs to be changed he told me they need to raise the purse...
The highlight that stands out in Darrell's career is Winning the Dream 100 and Dirt Track World Championship in 2003. Only driver ever to win those two events in same year!
When asked where he liked to race....the high or low groove he said "whatever works".. He said the same of the dry slick or tacky track..."whatever works"..
