Billy Drake is thirtysix years old and is married to Angela.. They have two children Austin and Brent. They live in Bloomington, Illinois.
Billy runs the #9 Late Model with a Bob Pierce Chassi and a Mullvain Motor.. The reason for his car number ........it was his dad Steve's number when he raced.
He started his racing career when he was ten years old in a quarter midget.. Started racing late model in 1987...
He told me that he got involved with racing because of his dad..
When asked what he thought it took to be a good driver he told me hard work and total dedication.....
He considers his home track Farmer City, Illinois... His favorite track to run is Brownstown Speedway, Brownstown, In.
When I asked him who his toughest competitor was .............. he told me "All of them"...
I asked him if there was anything in racing he would like to see changed and he told me he would like to see higher purses and lowering the cost to get in to race..........
The racing highlight that stands out for him is winning the Jackson 100 twice..

He told me he didn't care whether he raced the high groove or the low groove..He will race where ever it is the fastest.... He does like to race on a dry slick track..
