I was there during the Jackson 100 when they had a cloud burst right before the race and the pit area was horrible...
I just got to say that it is unbelievable how they got that track and pit area in shape ... GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
We pulled into Brownstown right around one oclock and the haulers were lined up as far back as you could see....
I recorded 69 late models and around 60 modifieds
There was a truck there that brought in bales of hay.... they had to call a second truck out with more ...guys put it around their pit area which did help...
Talked to a guy in the parking lot who had got there the night before.... said RV's and haulers had got stuck and had to be pulled out....
This was a LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL DIRT SERIES RACE so there were a lot of great drivers ....
I got interviews with Earl Pearson, jr, Rick Eckert, Jimmy Mars, Steve Francis, Eddie Carrier,jr, Dan Schieper,Darrell Lanigan, Billy Drake , Mike Marlar and two modified drivers Kevin DeYoung and Ryan Thomas..
The racing was awesome!!!! and no really bad accidents... a lot went over the burm...
Steve Francis broke a track record at 13.546

Mike Marlar had trouble all night...he came out to qualify and pulled off...came back at tail and still was having trouble...

Winners of heats were: Brian Birkhofer, Tim Dohm, Greg Johnson, Darren Miller, Rick Eckert, and Don Oneal
Winners of modified heats were Matt Boknecht, Jesse Cramer, Lee Hobbs, Aaron Ricketts, Chad Kinder, and Denny Schwartz
I really had a good time and got to meet a lot of really nice people...one of them was Eddie Carrier, Jr's wife Jamie......
